Emails will be sent using the default Channext domain (partnermailer.com) if neither you nor the partner sets up a custom domain. You can set up a domain for partners to use, but if a partner sets up their own domain, it will be used to send the email.

How to set up your domain

To begin with, go to Email domain from Settings and click on the Connect domain button.

Step 1: Connect domain

Enter the domain you’d like your partners to use in the provided field.

Step 2: DNS records

To complete the setup, you’ll need to update your DNS records with your DNS provider. Your domain can only be verified after you update your DNS records. This will take around 2 minutes and by doing it you are allowing Channext to use your domain to send the emails.

  • If you’re updating the records yourself, log in to your DNS provider’s website and add the CNAME records to your domain.

  • If someone else, such as an internal or external IT person, is handling this for you, copy and paste the Name and Value of the CNAME records and send them to your IT contact so they can update the DNS records.

Once you’ve updated the records, check the box to confirm the update and click Save.

Email domain statuses

  1. Verification in Progress: Your domain is saved, and we’re checking if the DNS records have been updated.

  2. Verified: Your domain is saved, and the DNS records are correctly updated. You can now use the domain to send emails.

  3. Not Verified: Your domain is saved, but the DNS records haven’t been updated. The domain cannot be used to send emails.

  4. Disconnected: Your domain has been disconnected and can no longer be used.

If you don’t update the DNS records within 24 hours, the status will change to Not Verified. After 24 hours, if you update the records, click the Update DNS button and check the checkbox to confirm the update.

In some cases, DNS records may be updated, but not all might be validated. If you see a status of Verified with an exclamation mark, it means the domain can be used to send emails, but there’s a chance some emails might not be sent until all DNS records are validated. If you encounter this status, please recheck your DNS records and ensure that the codes are copied and pasted correctly.

How to disconnect a domain

If you no longer want to use a domain, you can disconnect it by clicking the Disconnect button.

If you decide to use the domain again, you can reconnect it by clicking the Reconnect button.

Please note that you can only have one active domain at a time. Before reconnecting a domain, ensure that no other domains are currently active.
